Fears of terrorist attack against Israeli tourists just 24 hours before the visit to Athens of Israeli Prime Minister!

A secret document issued by the Greek police three days ago, has put hte authorities on “red” alert, as there is fear of terrorist attack by suicide bombers-to Israeli tourists on Greek soil. In the forefront are Rhodes, Kos and other islands of the Dodecanese.

According to a report in the Free Press after information came to EII, which is an open line with the Mossad, it was necessary to issue an emergency order for emergency standby, just 24 hours before the arrival in Athens of the President of Israel Shimon Peres .

The document specifically refers to Crete, Rhodes and other islands of the Dodecanese and Thessaloniki, which concentrates the biggest danger while under discreet surveillance will be allmuseums, archaeological sites, synagogues and ports where cruise ships arrive.  At the same time stated in the document, “Greece is the main destination for Israeli tourists in Europe.”

Highlights of the document are: 
1 . Strict and tight security measures will be  taken by uniformed officers (as well as uncover) and discreet surveillance by men in civilian security -including executives-Counter Service will apply to archaeological sites, museums, synagogues and Israeli embassies. Specific instructions are given to all the areas scheduled port of call for cruise ships. In addition  will be higher security at all the big hotel facilities, where many groups arriving from Israel.

2. Most at ‘high risk’ are the Dodecanese and Thessaloniki, followed by Xania and Chalkis. In these areas, as stated, the presence of thousands of Israeli tourists requires a “full and faithful implementation of controls and increases the obligations of the Greek authorities.” Emphasis will also be given to the controls at airports in these regions.

3 . Apart from tourists, storage needs and places where the Jewish element was strong before the occupation of Greece, including Thessaloniki, Rhodes and Kos, during the Second World War. There, that is, where communities of Jews are still numerous.

4. Commands are given to men who will oversee the security of all Israeli political targets in order to detect any suspicious activity, particularly by individuals who have originated from the Middle East. The observation security and general public should be aware that also people can be camouflaged with a wig, like the kamikaze in Burgas.

The terrorist attack that occurred last July in Bulgaria, where the airport of Burgas-suicide bomber killed 6 people and injured 32, including almost all Israeli tourists has caused great concern in many countries that take measures to protect Israelis citizens.
