Animal Rescue Kos have had another busy week….
Animal Rescue Kos is a voluntary group, that help the animals on the island of Kos, in whatever way they can, from injured animals, a sterilisation program, finding homes for strays, and raising awareness and funds for their cause. They have already achieved soo much in such a little time.
This week they said kalo taxidi (goodbye, and a good journey) to Romy, Peter and Rene as they left on their journey to Germany, to their new forever homes.
Sue McGrane, head of the voluntary group in Kos, stated
“Its been a very busy and rewarding week, and the land won’t be quite the same with so many dogs gone to their forever homes”.
Over the last week they have rescued four female dogs, all in season from the streets and they will be sterilised.
Ten of their sponsored cats were operated on this week.
They have rescued a mum and her four puppies, 3 other puppies that were found in Kardamena, 1 in Kos town, and another 3 in Tingaki.
Two cats that were reported injured , were also taken in for treatment.
The volunteer team continue to do an amazing job, at the land, where now the electrics have been made safe ,the plumbing is coming along nicely, trees have been cut down, dangerous fencing taken down, and so many other things have got under way, or have been completed.
Susan McGrane as always, would like to thank everyone who has helped in so many ways,
”thanks so much, without you all we couldn’t have achieved so much”.
“Thanks all”….
There has been wonderful and Al continuing support for Animal Rescue Kos, around the globe, the donations and the support of our members, (on facebook and our website). We are as always very, very grateful, and will continue to do the very best we can for the Animals that need help on the island of Kos.
This week Animal Rescue Kos also received a large food donation from Germany, which will make many animals around the island very happy! Thank you Romy and Hunde-breucke.
and if you can help in anyway, they have launched a new appeal….
We need your help now to fund “ARKland” – a new sanctuary for the animals of Kos, Greece.
€150,000 would allow us to buy the land and building(s) and set up a permanent home for the charity to operate from.
Can you please help us to raise this amount?
In the immediate you can help with donations via Paypal or cheques. Details on our Facebook page and our main website at www.animalrescuekos.com (links open in new windows).
We also have a new line in T shirts that are for sale – details will be added shortly.
In the near future (starting January / February 2012) we shall be offering a “wall of fame” on which individuals and businesses who sponsor the charity will appear.
