We have received the below news article from our friend Giannis Kiaris the chief editor of AegeaNews.gr. It`s really interesting view on how the local authorities try to manipulate the upcoming elections via the public media and with direct access to the local TV station. DEAR GIANNIS,
With what exactly happened before the debate went “live”,also according to what the sources say,the people does not know what exactly is going on,i would like it if you allowed me to, through aegeanews, tell you the real story.

As you already know,at the meeting that we had so we could prepare for the debate(we only just got informed 3 hours before), ALL the reporters agreed that we would state the questions in alphabetical order so as to avoid further complaints(yes we have that too…).

At the first debate,first was you, then was Maria Papazahariou and third was Giorgos Passanikolakis.
At the second debate first was me, second was Giannis Ioannidis and third was Giorgos Katsavaros. A couple of minutes before we went live and all had taken our seats,our colleague Mr. Ioannidis “informs” us that he will make the first question to Giorgos Kiritsis!!!!

I was very shocked and i refused for that to happen and so did my colleague Giorgos Katsaveros. As you know this was not good in any case cause we had all prepared our questions in order that we would ask the candidates.

I wont even begin to tell you how uncomfortable i felt with all the chaos that was being caused and how bad i felt in front of the guests with where looking at us dumfounded.Not all of them though,one of them seemed as though he was very amused by the whole scene.I have one thing to tell you,when i asked Mr. Ioannidis why did he change our plans he said that one hour before the entry of the programme he had a phone call from our fellow colleauge Sevi Vlahou(!!!!),coordinator of the broadcast.He seemed very jumpy and stated that he had his questions ready but after Ms. Sevi Vlahou’s phone call he ripped them up and wrote others.

As you realize,if my colleauge Mr. Ioannidis asked the questions first i would remain unarmed. In order to sort out this mess, me and my fellow colleauge Mr. Katsavaros asked Ms. Sevi Vlahou why hadnt she informed us as well.

What i understood from her answer made no sense and from what i understood she was saying this and that without explaining to us the reasons of her actions.

I asked if they could postpone the broadcast for another half hour so i could have some time to write some questions.I wont hide that in my knowledge of this dirty game i was ready to leave but they stated that the questioning would go as we programmed.
