Bikini’s & things….The NOT so Greek Goddess!

Ok, so you’ve been brushing and scrubbing your skin in circular movements for the last month. You have spent your precious money and have bought god knows how many lotions and potions, that promise miracles.  You have even contemplated  giving up coffee and wine.  The thought of another bowl of cabbage soup, turns your stomach, and you only used the membership for the gym you were given at Christmas twice, but you do walk up and down the stairs a lot of times……and guess what?

Yep, those legs might look slightly better, and you have a little less overhang around your middle, but unless you are a super model, or have fantastic genes….or are super fit, you  are still dreading putting that bikini on for the first time…especially if you haven’t been to a tanning booth, or you’ve done a DIY job and are now slightly orange around your knees and ankles!

The good news is there are plenty of cover-ups around this summer that can mix and match with your beachwear, and there is always the down to the floor floaty caftan too.  These are all of course made in light fabrics, so in fact you can still see through them to what’s underneath, but it does camouflage the bumpy orange peel parts, and gives you that little added confidence!

Bikini’s are bright and vigilant, in beautiful blues, purples , sizzling yellows, blood reds and vibrant oranges.  Tribal prints, exotic flowers, and little embellishments, seem to be all the rage.

Mixing and matching with polka dots and flowers, shapes that flatter all silhouettes, and tanktini’s  have finally made an impression in Kos. Tanktini’s  are ideal for those wishing to wear something between a bikini, but can’t, and an all-in one swimsuit.

Strapless seem to be quite popular, bandeau style, with slight padding in all the right places.  Strapless makes sense and saves all those white marks around your shoulders.  Not so good for water parks and playing beach volley though!

The great thing is that most of the swim wear covers all sizes, and big is certainly beautiful too.  So feel gorgeous on the beach, be bright and bold and don’t forget the sunscreen!

Big hats, huge sunglasses, large earings, killer heels and lots of bangles will deter the eye away from the body……but, all the beach  will probably be looking at you anyway if you wear all of these at once! ( They might also want your autograph).

Fabulous news on the hair front,  is that having spent all that time preparing your skin, removing your hairs, de-skinning your feet, and trying to rub in the high factor sun cream, that leaves you looking whiter (or blue), …you don’t have to worry about your hair……Sexy loose wavy hair is the look for the beach this summer, or messy ponytails!

A big thank you to Evita and Angel, for letting me raid their racks, take pictures, and of course, not forgetting  to mention and thank our two headless and footless models…..!!!

The guy on the left is the perfect example of what to wear on the beach for men, simple, bright shorts at a reasonable length….take notice please, becauses there have been far too many comments on Facebook lately about unseenly sightings of speedo’s!!!

Evita and Angel(two different shops) can be found on Hippocrates Street in Kos Town, they have beautiful underwear, nightwear, bikini’s, all-in-ones, tanktini’s, cut away costumes and so much more.   Greek & Designer names,  International recognised brands such as Triumph too, and available in every style, colour & pattern for whatever your age, or your personal body type.  So get shopping, summer is finally here…..

Happy sun days!
