Win a Holiday Package to Kos Island

EVERYTHING FOR ONE EURO – HELP THE FINNISH SCHOOL!

I popped along today to the International Language Centre Kos.  The Centre is home to several of the foreign  schools on the island.  It is also used as a meeting place for their societies and committees too.

Today the Finnish girls were raising funds to help with the continuation of their school in Kos, by selling clothes that have been donated, for the price of only 1 euro.  All the clothes were beautifully washed, and many of the items were hung on hangers and in excellent condition.

I picked  myself up a bargain or two, a brilliant bright and bold jumper, and a ‘hippy’ style skirt.   There were also an assortment of toys, handbags and other accessories, to choose from, some brand new and never even worn!

For anyone looking for parade uniforms (we all know how expensive they are to buy new here), there were a dozen white shirts, skirts and trousers in various childrens sizes.

It was a bustling atmosphere in the building as all ages, nationalities, shapes and sizes looked through the racks, and delved into piles.   A very  good turn out today, and they were very thankful of the support from fellow citizens of the island.

The Bazaar- sale will be held again tomorrow too, and later in the Spring .

The Finnish school are also appealing to anyone who has any items that they no longer require, clothes, toys etc, not to throw them away, but if they are in good condition to please donate them to the school.  They have a store room, and collection of any items can be also be arranged.

So over and out, from Tracey Sakellari, for Kosnewswire, on behalf of The Finnish School!

Don’t forget tomorrow (19th Feb) same time, 10.00am- 13.00 same place (The Old Connie Hotel)

Update: Thank you to all that came along and supported us whilst picking up a bargain or two and don’t worry if you missed it the next one will be held in April… So keep a look out to be sure not to miss it!
