It has been reported by local news that a foreigner was arrested at Kos airport for non-payment of state debts and will be imprisoned for five years. The court order was from Athens.
A recent search and rescue operation and training exercise took place in Kos by the Greek Emergency Services ‘Lexis’ it was designed especially to train emergency workers in adverse weather conditions. The training was reported a success and at a high level.
It has been reported that an 18 year old was arrested and charged in Kos, there was already a warrant out for the arrest of this person due to an already breach of code within the Juvenile Detention system. The young person had originally been arrested and charged with purchasing narcotics.
Strong winds are whipping their way around Kos island tonight. It is advisable to stay home (avoid wooded areas) and ensure that all garden furniture etc is secure. So far there are no reports of the weather conditions affecting the power supply, but ensure your candles are by your bedside…just in case!
