Primary School Pupils in Antimachia Experienced Recycling
Students of the Primary School in Antimachia had the opportunity to become acquainted with the process of recycling material collected in special bins at their school.
Under a program implemented by their school, fourth grade students went on an environmental excursion to the site of the Hotel Robinson Club (Daedalus) where they saw and participated in the packaging of recyclables and the screening process of data collected from company vehicles.
There, the group responsible for the hotel, explained to the young students the process of collecting, sorting and re-use of recyclable materials. The mention of biofuel production from waste domestic frying oil for the operation of company vehicles caused a great sensation.
The students were enthusiastic and participated actively throughout the duration of the trip. “This generation is the spark that will light the big fire.” were some of the words of those responsible.
The Elementary School has asked the municipality to put two other recycling bins for plastic and aluminum into the surrounding space.
