This years May Day could result in a battle-congregation in Eleftheria Square.
Workers, youth, unemployed, pensioners, immigrants.
This years May Day is the start of a new battle against unpopular policies. With our blood, with our work, over the years a huge wealth was created. Whatever has been produced in the past and what will be produced in the future, is down to the working man, who is exploited and works with cruel class pressure, from large and local businesses and multi national monopolies.
Today we can work less, have more free time, feel secure about the future and enjoy a broad system of social care.
-Yet why do we live worse and plunder our lives.
-Yet why is unemployment, poverty and desperation on the rise.
-why are labour rights crushed after being fought for
-why are the lives of the young, children, womens and pensioners worsening.
-Why are nations being fragmented and being threatened with new wars
The question is: “who is in charge?”
Opposite us is an unpopular power which consists of Governments, businesses, E.E and parties of a one-way Europe which cry that we shouldn’t assert ourselves, not to question the choices of the plutocracy but to bow our heads to our employers and compromise less and less. Citing the crisis, the hunt for profit is leading to barbarism. The cheaper the labour the higher the profit. This is why collective work contracts are being scrapped along with working hours, allowances and bonuses being cut, lower pensions, higher retirement age, privatized health and education and higher unemployment. The crisis has created this system leading to enormous riches on one hand and poverty and misery on the other.
Don’t accept employers harming you so that profits can be made.
No worker should accept the future that is being prepared for us ,or accept that these measures are temporary-especially the young, who should have no illusions that capitalism can make the system become humanized.. It is an obstacle to the progress of mankind and it’s E.T’s duty to reverse it.
The billions that banks gamble, will not secure homes or work. The billions that have and will be received aren’t used for local services, housing, schools, hospitals, flood and earhquake protection.
Now is the right time to fire at the root of evil i.e at the system that creates crises and debt, that steals the workers’ sweat to raise profits. The workig class, farmers and professionals who suffer, must, organize and pool forces in the common fight against manufacturers, monopolies and big business barons.
A front is required against those who are trying to dis-arm the working class. The reinforcement of class movements of PAME is a requirement of the times.
The road won’t be easy. It needs collective and personal sacrifices, endurance, strength and a strong reaction against projects that will cost labourers and their allies. These sacrifices are of great importance to those who have their neck in the noose. There should be no delay. Every minute, every moment should be given to the workforce. In order to prevent new crimes to our insurance rights, pension reductions and to protect what is left of free health service and education, social benefits and public property.
The plutocracy should be made to pay and we should push the exploiters to their limit.
