Today saw a massive power cut lasting more than 5 hours
Today saw a massive powercut that started at 5.10pm and lasted over 5 hours, many parts of Kos island were affected the main areas being Kos Town all the way to Psalidi, Marmari and Linopotis. The source of the power problem was a fire on one of the electicity poles in Marmari which affected 4 lines in total.
Many businesses had to close, whilst many tried to stuble through the evening in darkness with only candles, tourches and mobile phones for light. Some businesses and large hotels were unaffected due to having generators but the effects of no power for 5 hours (especially at dinner time) was something that the businesses did not really need at this time.
The power has now been restored and it is business as usual
