Vehicle Stickers to be abolished…
That’s good news…mine is so old, I am running out of spaces to put them!!!
Aegean News writes:-
Abolished by the end of 2012 the stickers placed on windshields of cars and motorcycles.
Now the owners of all types of vehicles will only pay through the banking system.
The reasons for this decision is simple – cutting costs. It cost a fortune to send notices and produce stickers for this purpose in Greece. It costs the state 80 million euros!
The current system is also easy to ‘dodge’ and there have been many cases of illegal placement stickers to vehicles throughout Greece and owners who have obviously not paid their road tax/insurance fees.
Now , with the new system that will be implemented, the owners of vehicles registered in Greece will go to the bank with their tax return and the registration/license of the vehicle .
Exact details and information will be given shortly by the relevant department of transport etc of what to do for next year.
Already, this will save time and money and is a great step forward in cutting costs that are not necessary in the Greek state.
