Politics and Women, women and political power are concepts that must occur much more, with greater involvement of women in decision making and selection process. -With a balanced division of responsibilities and decision whether politics is the means to solve the problems facing modern society, the participation of the other half of the population from the top institutions (Parliament – Municipal Governance) is now more than ever necessary and imperative.
Why women in particular with regard to historical and cultural reasons are carriers of values, ideas and attitudes required by the social reality. Women’s Association of Greece (WAG) with many years of struggles and successes of promoting gender equality in all areas of family-social-economic-political life, believe that the use of all human resources deepen democracy and ensure different quality and a humane policy. Besides the position and role of women in each society are indisputable criterion of civilization and progress.
And KALLIKRATIS creates opportunities for promoting gender equality policies in regions and municipalities. The reverse image of the previous municipal elections (2006) in which a total of 1033 only 32 elected mayors were women (3.1%) is society’s request for renewal of the political life of the country voting women placing women protagonists in modern developments Ensuring a better tomorrow.
